Advocacy

For more than 100 years, the Parent Teacher Association has advocated for the education and well-being of all children and provided support to members so that they can speak with a powerful voice and be a relevant resource for parents.

The Washington State PTA (WSPTA) dates back to 1905.  In addition to supporting PTA's national issues, the  WSPTA focuses  on articulating the needs of Washington children and on helping local units identify and support a platform that advances the interests of all children.  The WSPTA does this by identifying legislative principles, voting on resolutions that affect how we use advocacy resources, and determining short-term legislative priorities.
